Hiroshima Nagasaki Day Coalition Commemoration

Each August we join the Hiroshima Nagasaki Day Coalition at the Toronto Peace Garden in Nathan Phillips Square to commemorate those lost to the nuclear bombings, and to work with ICAN for the total abolition of nuclear weapons. This year’s Commemoration will take place August 6, 2024. Setsuko Thurlow, who received the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2017 will be guest speaker; Rooj Ali, Involved in nuclear abolition will also speak.

Location: Peace Garden, City Hall, Toronto.

“Vow from Hiroshima” was screened on June 15, 2024 at a downtown Toronto Library. Jane Sagar, Tom Sagar, Rosemary Keenan, and Sr. Mary-Ellen Francoeur attended the screening. Anton Wagner, an advocate for nuclear abolition shedding light on the dangers of nuclear weapons,¬†was also present.
